Choosing where to send children to school\nabroad is a difficult but challenging step for their successful integration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While some parents choose to attend school at\nhome, particularly when one of the parents is not working, the choice of\ndistance education does not always facilitate integration in the host country.\nBuilding the social circle is an important step in children’s lives and school\ncan help them a lot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A lot of countries offer the possibility to\nschool your children in an International School. This could be the opportunity\nfor the kids to be surrounded by children in the same situation than theirs.\nHowever, the English language might be the major language in those schools, and\nchildren will need to adapt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some schools, recognised by the host country’s\nMinistry of Education, also provide bridges to integrate local schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Making the choice of schooling for children is\ndifficult but many exchange groups and expatriate circles can be useful in\nhelping parents to make their decision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Being positive: the best way to fit in<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Expatriation is an extraordinary adventure that\nwill be made up of joys and less happy moments. But the best way to integrate\nwell into the country is still to be positive about this experience which is\nnot offered to everyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leaving your home country, your family and\nfriends is a difficult moment to go through but it is always possible to\nexplain to the children that they will come back for a long holiday or at the\nend of the expatriation if it only lasts a few years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Keeping time for your children is essential in\norder to explore the new country and make some discoveries together. It is also\nimportant to maintain some family habits such as family meals and outings to\navoid disturbing the children’s bearings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, if you have the chance to make a trip\nto the future host country beforehand, among other things, this would allow\nthem to discover the culture, the future home, the school, the climate… and\nto picture themselves in this new life more easily.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
