What are the usual guarantees of international health insurance?

Hospitalization (in-patient) :

The essential basic cover for all policyholders, covering the cost of hospitalisation, surgery, cancer treatment and much more. Our hospital plans generally reimburse 100% of actual costs, giving you total peace of mind. Some company schemes include maximum limits to control expenditure on specific on specific elements such as room type and maternity.

Out-patient :

This cover is often combined with hospitalisation cover, covering consultations with general practitioners and specialists, medicines, vaccinations, medical check-ups and more. It includes sublimits for specific services, such as a maximum amount for optical care or a maximum a maximum number of sessions per year for certain therapies such as osteopathy.

Dental :

Dental care is a major concern for many policyholders. Although dental costs can be high, our cover limits these costs and may include a waiting period for certain treatments.

What type of health insurance should I choose?

Insurance at First Euro

Offered by an insurer aimed at all expatriates, it covers health expenses from the 1st Euro spent, without the involvement of any other organisation (such as the CFE, for example). Medical expenses are therefore fully covered by the health insurance.

Insurance to complement the CFE

Exclusively for expatriates affiliated to the Caisse des Français de l’Etranger (CFE). The CFE reimburses medical expenses up to the rates applicable in France, which may not be sufficient in countries countries where medical costs are high. The Caisse des Français à l’étranger enables your employees to continue to be reimbursed for their health expenses with rates and conditions similar to those of French Social Security. Membership is on behalf of your employees, for whom you will act as agent: it is your responsibility to send all the necessary documents to the CFE before your employees leave. In this way, your employee will retain all his or her rights and immediately immediately on their return to France , without any waiting period or lost quarters.

However, this fund should be seen as a complementary service: it will still be necessary to pay health insurance contributions in the country of residence.
